2025. november 3. és 5. között a Debreceni Egyetem Gyermeknevelési és Gyógypedagógiai Karának oktatói, Vargáné dr. Nagy Anikó és Szőllősi Tamás, részt vettek az Open University (Egyesült Királyság) szervezésében megvalósult Knowledge Exchange Event című szakmai programon.
Az angliai tanulmányút során a résztvevők ellátogattak a Loughborough Egyetem bölcsődéjébe és óvodájába, ahol Caroline Farley, az intézmény vezetője fogadta őket. A bölcsődében és óvodában 0–5 éves korú gyermekek nevelése és gondozása zajlik; a gyermekek elsősorban az egyetem oktatóinak, kutatóinak és hallgatóinak gyermekei.
A látogatás során oktatóink betekintést nyerhettek abba, miként alakítanak ki a pedagógusok a csoportszobákban és az udvarrészeken olyan „kuckókat” a gyermekek számára, amelyek bátorítják a gyermeki autonómia gyakorlását, az önálló tapasztalatszerzést és a kreatív felfedezést. Megfigyelhették, hogyan építik be a mindennapokba a természetes anyagok használatát, és milyen módon alkalmazzák a digitális eszközöket a pedagógusok a szülőkkel való kapcsolattartás és kommunikáció támogatására.

Visit to the Loughborough University Nursery
Between 3–5 November 2025, lecturers from the University of Debrecen Faculty of Education for Children and Special Educational Needs, Dr. Anikó Varga Nagy and Tamás Szőllősi, participated in the professional programme titled Knowledge Exchange Event, organised by the Open University (United Kingdom).
During their professional visit to England, they also took the opportunity to visit the Nursery and Kindergarten of Loughborough University, where they were welcomed by Caroline Farley, the head of the institution. The nursery and kindergarten provide care and education for children aged 0–5 years, who are mainly the children of university staff members and students.
During the visit, the lecturers observed good practices illustrating how teachers create small “nooks” for children within classrooms and outdoor areas, providing opportunities to exercise autonomy, gain diverse experiences, and engage in creative exploration. They also noted how natural materials are integrated into children’s play in simple yet effective ways, and how digital tools are used by educators to maintain communication and collaboration with parents.
